What types of climbing do you offer?
Here at The Climber’s Crush, we’re primarily setup with bouldering walls, but do also offer an auto-belay section to help get beginners up and climbing.
What is bouldering?
When bouldering, you’ll climb short but challenging routes, known as “problems,” without the use of ropes or harnesses. We have a variety of routes, designed to accommodate all levels of climbers. Thick crash pads are used for safety in case of falls. Bouldering emphasizes strength, technique, and problem-solving skills.
What is auto-belay climbing?
With auto-belay climbing, you’ll wear a harness that is secured by an automatic belay device that takes up the slack in the climbing rope when the climber falls or lowers themself to the ground. It doesn’t require a human belayer and helps build confidence when climbing.
What equipment do I need to start climbing?
To start climbing, especially bouldering, you don’t need much equipment. Here’s a basic list to get you started:
Climbing Shoes: These shoes have a snug fit and a sticky rubber sole, which helps you grip the climbing holds more effectively and improves your precision and control on the wall. You’re welcome to bring your own climbing shoes, or rent a pair from us when you arrive.
Clothing: Wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Many climbers prefer athletic wear such as leggings or shorts and a moisture-wicking shirt. Avoid anything too baggy that might get caught on holds.
That’s it! As you progress, you might consider chalk to keep your hands dry and a chalk bag to carry it in.
If you’re going to be using the auto-belay system, we can also lend you a harness and walk you through getting up and running safely.

How old do I need to be in order to climb?
In order to climb at The Climbers Crush, you must be at least 4 years old. Younger children are still welcome to come in with their families and we do have some smaller climbing equipment they can use with supervision but will not need to purchase a day pass (though they will still need to have a safety waiver signed).
Do you allow loose chalk?
No. We allow liquid chalk or chalk ball (must not have loose chalk outside of the chalk ball).
